Sometimes a member of a small group will drop a shocking, major bombshell on the group. There is no way to prepare in advance for a shock you don’t know is coming, but if you are flexible, your group can rise to the occasion to be used by God. Here’s how.
If you want to have a great small group, there are a few ground rules that you need to follow. These will help you to treat each other with love and respect, and above all, to build trust in your group.
We cannot truly and fully live out the commands of the New Testament without developing Christian community. Christian community is not just about being “trendy” or being “on the cutting edge.” It’s about living out the NT’s vision of God’s people.
Follow-up conversations outside of group meetings allow you to get specific with people’s needs. They are also a great opportunity to help others learn to lead – so don’t do all the follow-up yourself.
